This palm tree The Big One backdrop sets a whole beach behind a surf first birthday. The Big One sits in the middle in chunky retro letters, turquoise for The and One and ocean blue for Big, with two green palm trees around it, a pale sandy sun, a soft blue watercolor cloud and gray seagulls above, two painted surfboards on the left and a turquoise wave across the bottom.

It is made of a soft, lightweight polyester and printed to order in the USA from beach art drawn in-house in Pennsylvania, and it ships with no grommets, so hang it with clamps, clips or tape.

Match the size to the space. The Small is sized for the spot behind a high chair, the Medium covers the wall behind a cake or treat table, the Large stretches across a pergola or patio, and the XL makes a full beach wall big enough for the grandparents, cousins and the birthday boy in one photo.

The turquoise and marigold tones match surfs up first birthday decorations like teal, marigold and white balloons in an arch, string lights overhead and small surfboard cutouts on the dessert table. The family's palm tree shirts use this same beach scene, so the backdrop and every outfit match in the pictures. It travels folded, so steam it for a few minutes before you hang it.

Frequently asked questions

Which palm tree backdrop size fits behind a high chair?

The Small, 36 by 26 inches. If the cake smash happens on a blanket, or brothers and sisters will crowd in, step up to the Medium.

How do I hang the palm tree backdrop with no grommets?

Clamp or clip it to a backdrop stand or pergola beam, or use tape, tacks or command strips on a wall.

Does the turquoise backdrop work for a luau first birthday?

Yes. The palm trees, sun and wave fit a luau or tropical party as well as a surf one, especially with leis and pineapples on the table.

Do the palm tree shirts match the backdrop?

Yes. The adult, kids, toddler and baby shirts all carry this beach scene, and the birthday boy's reads I'm The Big One.
