The blue pickup design
An arch of gold glitter confetti dots crowns the design. Under it, Winter is written in a looping navy script, ONE stands beside it in chunky gold glitter capitals, and derland continues in navy on the line below, so it reads Winter ONEderland. The truck is painted in soft watercolor: a rounded, old-fashioned pickup in powder blue with chrome bumpers and white-walled wheels, its bed holding two small Christmas trees topped with gold stars, with sprigs of greenery and red berries tucked around it.
For the birthday boy, that is the whole design. Family shirts move the truck up and add a title underneath in tall, slightly hand-drawn navy capitals, then a whole little forest of painted evergreens and a few more gold dots, so the shirts read MAMA, DADDY, GRANDPA or BROTHER below the pickup. The look is cozy and nostalgic, like a trip to the tree farm.
Winter babies often share their month with the holidays, and this design lets the family celebrate both. Many parents keep the birthday bodysuit with the first ornament they bought for him, and some hang a tiny wooden truck on the tree every year after.
Blue pickup shirts for every age
The truck is made for four kinds of shirt:
- Blue pickup Winter Onederland adult shirts in unisex sizes XS through 4X, for Mom, Dad, Grandma, Grandpa, the aunts, the uncles and both godparents.
- Blue pickup Winter Onederland kids shirts for brothers, sisters and cousins who are in school, youth S through XL.
- Blue pickup Winter Onederland toddler shirts in 2T through 5T, for little siblings or a birthday boy in toddler clothes.
- The blue pickup Winter Onederland baby bodysuit from newborn, and the matching baby tee, for him and other babies in the family.
The Name menu holds 24 family titles, Mama, Dada, Gigi, Nanny, Titi and Godmother among them, plus the birthday boy's Winter ONE derland option. Grandpa Joe, Great Grandma or any other title can go in Custom family name.
Planning a vintage truck Winter Onederland
A Christmas tree truck party is easy to pull together because the shirts set the palette: navy, powder blue, evergreen and gold, with natural wood and a little red. Small potted trees or tabletop evergreens in burlap, a plaid blanket on the gift table, wooden crates holding the cupcakes and strings of warm lights give the room a farmhouse feel. A toy blue pickup in the middle of the cake table, with a tiny tree in the back, makes the perfect centerpiece.
For food, a white cake with green buttercream trees, a smash cake topped with a little wooden truck, sugar cookies shaped like trucks and trees, and hot cocoa with candy cane stirrers fit right in. Little bags of chocolate coins in gold foil echo the gold glitter on the shirts and make easy favors. A hot cocoa station with mugs, peppermint sticks and mini marshmallows keeps grown-ups lingering, and a basket of toy trucks gives the toddlers something to do.
Choose one photo spot, ideally by the Christmas tree, or by the cake with the string lights glowing behind. The blues and greens on everyone's shirts will match the decorations, and the pictures will look like a Christmas card.
Dressing the whole family
Parents look relaxed in their named shirts with jeans and an open flannel or sherpa jacket, and grandparents with a cardigan. Big kids can add plaid pants or a beanie. The birthday boy is adorable in the bodysuit with plaid shorts for the cake smash, then switches to the baby tee and tiny boots for the rest of the party.
Asking guests to wear blue, green, cream or red plaid keeps the group photo cozy and festive. If you can, take a few pictures outside next to a real truck or a stack of firewood; the vintage look of the design suits it perfectly.
Getting the sizes right
Every shirt's photos end with a size chart, measured in inches. Adult tees are a relaxed unisex fit, so wear your normal size, choose a smaller one for a closer fit or a larger one to layer over a henley. For the birthday boy, the common sizes at one are 12 and 18 months; check a bodysuit he wears now on the chart, and go bigger if he sits between two.
Ordering for a big family
One order can hold every family member: add the first shirt, pick the next name and size, add it, and repeat. The family savings cover all apparel in your cart and appear at checkout automatically.
We print every shirt after it is ordered, a process of 2 to 5 business days, and the package then travels by standard ground shipping for about 3 to 5 business days. Order two weeks ahead, or a little sooner in December, when holiday mail is heavy. Need them by a certain date? Send a request and we'll try to help.
More snowy designs live in Winter Onederland birthday shirts, and the birthday family shirts cover every other theme.
